Celeste Lucero Receives the Inaugural Ryan and Brandi Mummert Research Fellowship in Economics

Alumnus Ryan Mummert says he gained invaluable skills as a research assistant when he was an undergraduate, and he wanted to make sure that other students could also have that experience.  That is the impetus behind the new endowment fund he established with his wife, Brandi.

This fall, Celeste Lucero, a junior majoring in economics, became the first Mummert Fellowship recipient. Celeste is working with professor Jingjing Wang a project which is part of the department’s Research for a Better New Mexico program.
