Economics Ph.D. student, Casey Leek, has been accepted to the prestigious RAND Graduate Student Summer Associate Program. RAND is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research powerhouse known for its contributions to military and social policy. Among its most influential studies, an experiment on health insurance found that free health care led to reductions in high blood pressure and improvements in dental health and vision, especially for low-income people. Casey's dissertation focuses on military families and the impact of military bases on the local economy.
