Benjamin Jones
Bio
Benjamin Jones is an Associate Professor of Economics at UNM. He has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of New Mexico and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Benjamin’s research specializes in environmental economics and in particular he focuses on the connections between the natural environment and human health outcomes. Applications of his work include invasive species, afforestation and deforestation impacts, wildfire smoke, water quality and availability, and energy resources. His work has been published in leading environmental economics journals such as the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Environmental and Resource Economics, Land Economics, and Ecological Economics. His work has also been featured in The Los Angeles Times, Fox Business News, Nature Sustainability, and Anthropocene Magazine.
