Bio

Xiaoyang Wang is an Assistant Professor of Economics at UNM. He obtained a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri - Columbia and a B.A. from the Renmin University of China. Before joining UNM, he worked as the manager of commodity research and trading in Smithfield Foods.

Research Interests

My research interests primarily focus on applied econometric methods. Current research projects study the market quality issues of commodity derivatives markets, under the context of technology improvement, climate change and market structural shifts.
