Profile:

Alix Walkup is a PhD candidate in Economics at UNM planning to graduate in May, 2027. Her major is public economics and her dissertation work focuses on health. She is the 2026/2027 recipient of the Boyle award fellowship from the department of Economics.

Alix earned a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2017. She went on to work in the field of financial planning before going to graduate school and earning an M.A. in Economics from UNM in 2024.

Outside of school, Alix enjoys time with her dog, reading, and traveling the world.
