Profile:

Samsun is a PhD student in the Department of Economics at the University of New Mexico. She is originally from the southwestern part of Bangladesh. She earned her Bachelor of Social Sciences (B.S.S) and Master of Social Sciences (B.S.S) from Islamic University, Bangladesh. Her main research interests are in health economics, including policy evaluation, health outcomes, hispanic people, kidney disease, cost-effectiveness. She is also interested in environmental and natural economics, including uranium mining, waste clean-up, and cost-benefit analysis. She enjoys dancing, cooking, gardening, and hiking. She lives with her husband, Md. Atiqur Rahman who is also a PhD Candidate in the Department of Economics at the University of New Mexico.
