The Julian S. Duncan Scholarship in Latin American Economic Studies

The Memorial Minute Adopted by the University of New Mexico Faculty, May 14, 1963, remembers Dr. Duncan in the following way:
Julian S. Duncan, a former faculty member and chair of the Department of Economics at UNM, is remembered as “much more than an economist and teacher. He was a warm and sympathetic person who took upon his own shoulders many problems of this colleagues and students; several students would not have graduated had it not been for his encouragement and assistance. Beneath an unpretentious demeanor lay a firm resolve to do what was right and to lend what assistance he could.” This scholarship supports students with a demonstrated interest in Latin America.

Available to undergraduate and graduate students with a demonstrated interest in Latin America.
